Lee Jae-wook of tvN’s Saturday-Sunday dramas “Wedding” and “Wedding: Light and Shadow” (written by Hong Jeong-eun, directed by Park Joon-hwa) expressed his thoughts on leaving the work.
Recently, Lee Jae-wook met with Star News at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and talked about the “Wedding” series, which ended on the 8th.
“The Twilight” is a fantasy romance in which the main characters whose fate has been twisted due to “twilight art” that changes their souls against the backdrop of a great country that does not exist in history or on the map overcome it and grow. Originally planned for 20 episodes, “The Twilight” did not contain all the stories, and season 1, which was 20 episodes from June to August last year, and season 2, which was 10 episodes from December last year to January this year, were broadcast.
In the play, Lee Jae-wook appeared as Jang Wook, a young master of the Jang family, one of the four great sorcerers of Daeho-guk. Lee Jae-wook drew a love line with Jung So-min and Ko Yoon-jung. Earlier in season 1, Jung So-min played the role of Mudeok, an annular marriage with the soul of falling water. In season 2, Ko Yoon-jung appeared as Jin Jin-yeon, a new goddess with a face of falling water.
Lee Jae-wook said he learned a lot from Jung So-min and Ko Yoon-jung. First of all, about Jung So-min, he said, “He was an experienced person in the field because he was a senior who worked a lot.”
He also showed his respect for Ko Yoon-jung. Lee Jae-wook said, “I can describe Ko Yoon-jung as a rookie, but she was a person who never lost her laughter on the spot. There were times when I had a hard time on the spot, but he was a supportive person. “I want to say that I’m a senior because I learned a lot,” he said.
Hwang Min-hyun, who played Seo Yul, was also full of affection. Lee Jae-wook said, “It is certain that Seo-yul loves Jang-wook.” He then said, “I think Seo-yul loved Jang-wook even before I liked and loved Seo-yul.”
“He’s really, really handsome. Personally, I’m a fan of Hwang Min Hyun. As for acting, I thought, “I want to do better than this person,” but there are so many things this time. People themselves are very good people. I learned a lot as a senior Hwang Min-hyun, not an older brother. “When I see him in person, I really want to hug him,” he said.
Lee Jae-wook also recalled the beginning and the end of the drama after finishing “The Wedding.” At first, he confessed that he had refused an offer to appear in “The Wedding.”
He said, “The script of the work came in through the manager. At first, I said, “I can’t do it.” From the situation itself to words such as handwriting, pine forest, and Jeong Jin-gak, everything was new to me. I thought it would be difficult to establish this. But when the second offer came in, ‘I was a challenger. Don’t you think we should try it.”I felt that way,” he said.
It was difficult reading the script, but now I know better than anyone else. “It was also a fun experience, so I think I chose it well without regret,” he said.
In addition, Lee Jae-wook said, “It was a homework for me to finish the work itself intact. It was a big task to play a character for a long time rather than implementing and acting. I finished the homework. “I think I can use the word growth,” he said. “This work is very good and grateful.” “I think the way I look at the work itself has grown,” he said.
As much as I left the meaningful work, I was disappointed. He said, “I was happy throughout the shoot. So I thought I was going to cry at the last shoot, but I didn’t cry. I woke up the next morning and thought it was over. Later, at the after party, the director said, “You worked hard,” but I cried. “I’ve never cried while doing other works, but I thought, ‘It’s a work that I really loved,'” he said.
