Prosecutors have demanded a nine-year prison term for residents who assaulted apartment security guards and drove them to extreme choices.
Today (7th) at the Criminal Agreement Department 13 of the Seoul Northern District Court, a decision-making hearing was held on Shim, a resident accused of revenge assault, confinement, and injury.
According to the prosecution, Shim assaulted the deceased, a security guard at his apartment, in April over parking problems.
When the deceased reported it, he dragged it to the bathroom of the security office and hit it again for 12 minutes.
He also threatened to torment me until I die if I don’t resign.
In today’s hearing, the prosecution asked the court to hand down a nine-year prison term, saying, “The victim died of overuse of resident power and severe punishment is needed.
Shim denied the crime and said she did not reflect on it when she was alone with the victim.
Shim’s lawyer claimed it was not a revenge assault.
The lawyer said, “There are conflicting statements from various residents, and I doubt if there was any actual assault when analyzing CCTV footage.”
Shim denied the charges, saying, “I pray for the repose of the deceased.”
The deceased made an extreme choice in May after suffering from Shim’s assault and intimidation.
